Is the Family Herbalist course completely online?
You can take the courses either online or by correspondence. The correspondence course is $495 and the online course is $100. The courses are the same except that the online course has all materials online while everything is mailed to you for the correspondence course. The online school is less expensive because we are celebrating the centennial of Dr. Christopher's birth by launching our courses online. This is a limited time offer - the price will go up soon.
Do I need High Speed Internet Access?
The Family Herbalist online course is administered completely online, so to register for the course you will need a computer and internet access. While high-speed internet is not required, it will be very difficult to do the course without it. Dial-up internet access will hamper your ability to complete the assignments, view the videos and download the books.
Will I be able to purchase the books/CDs/DVDs for my home library?
Yes - many of our students choose to purchase the materials for their personal libraries - you are given access to a link to buy them at special prices after you sign up.
I'm not very computer savvy - is there help available?
Yes - you have access to tech support if you need help. We have designed the course to be as simple and easy-to-use as possible, but if you get stuck you have e-mail access to the webmaster.
What if I get stuck on the material and I need help?
You have phone access to Master Herbalist counselors for coursework questions from Monday-Friday 9-4 (Mountain Time). You can call them during that time to ask questions about the material. The number is 1-800-372-8255
How long will the specials run?
The length of this Centennial Special has not been determined. We sit down with our accountant each month and determine if it should be continued for the next month. All announcements about specials ending go out in the Herbal Legacy newsletter - so be sure you are signed up at http://www.herballegacy.com.
Do I have to complete assignments on certain days or times?
No - everything is done at your convenience and on your time-table. As long as you finish in the alloted time you are fine.
How do I earn my Family Herbalist designation?
You must read the books, listen to the audios, watch the videos, complete all the study guides, complete the quizzes, pass the final exam with 70% correct and complete a survey about your experience with the course. Once you do this you will be e-mailed a Family Herbalist certificate.
Which books are included in this course?
An Herbal Legacy of Courage by David Christopher, MH; Herbal Home Health Care by Dr. Christopher; and Herbs to the Rescue by Kurt King, MH. These books are included in the course as PDFs (you can download them and either print them out or read them online).
Which audios are included in this course?
Safety of Herbs, Internal Cleansing, Master Herbalists Speak and Vaccines. You will be able to listen to them online, download them to your computer or an MP3 player, or purchase them at a discount.
Which videos are included in this course?
Simple Home Remedies and Fundamentals of Herbology. You will be able to watch them online or purchase them at a discount to watch at home.
Will I be able to purchase the books/CDs/DVDs for my home library?
